our second day in Davao is also exciting same with our first day. our scheduled tour is on the countryside. so mas close kami ngayon kay mother nature.

our first stop was mc donalds to buy my and erica's breakfast. then, off to the road... our first destination is the philippine eagle center. it is a 45 minute to 1 hour drive from the city. wala namang traffic. i learned so many things from our yesterday's tour.

1. Davao is 6x larger than the whole Metro Manila
2. Davao has been awarded as the most cleanest city
3. Davao's prides are: durian, waling waling, and of course Mt. Apo
4. Davao is a no littering province. They have round the clock street sweepers to maintain the cleanliness of the city
5. No one is allowed to smoke anywhere in Davao. With this, wala kang makikita kahit isang upos (cigarette butt) sa mga kalye
6. Davao is a drug free city. Their mayor is known as 'the punisher' and once you're caught with drugs, you sure is dead!
7. Taxi drivers in Davao are known for their honestly. Nagbibigay talaga sila ng sukli.
8. Hindi sila binabagyo. They have two beautiful doormat mounains na nakapaligid sa kanila. unfortunately, mas prone naman sila sa earthquake
9. When you're in Davao, the must trys are: durian, marang, mangosteen, and skyrider
10. Davao International Airport is stricter compared to NAIA and Mactan International Airport (based from experience)

when we reached the philippine eagle center, dito na ako na badtrip! for some unknown reason eh nagloko ang digicam ko. di naman siya bumagsak or anything. anyway, improvise kami ni erica. we just used our camphones plus yung mp4 player ni erica na mei cam. so tuloy pa rin... ang dami naming nakitang eagles. iba' ibang breed at family. pero ang philippine eagle pala eh malaki. di siya katulad ng mga regular birds na maliit lang at pwede mong laruin. dami ko din natutunan about eagles... tulad na lang ng:

1. mahirap mag breed ng eagles kasi territorial sila. ayaw nilang mei ksamang ibang eagles or else mag aaway sila. para kasi silang tao. nang aangkin ng lugar.
2. isang tao lang ang pwedeng lumapit sa kanila. at yun ay walang iba kundi ang caretakers nila
3. tulad ng mga tao, nag liligawan din ang mga eagles. mei dalawang malaking magkatabing cage and dun pinapaligawan ang mga babaeng eagles. ilalagay yung babaeng eagle dun sa isang cage. at dun naman sa isang cage yung lalaking eagle. tapos i-oobserve nila yung babae at lalaking eagles. pag di sila nag papansinan or nag aaway sila, it only means one thing: basted si lalaking eagle. so papalitan siya ng another lalaking eagle. hanggang sa magkasundo na yung babae at lalaking eagle.
4. tsaka pa lang pwedeng ipagsama sa iisang cage ang dalawang eagle pag mag asawa na sila.
5. loyal ang mga eagles. stick to one sila. so pag na partner na ang babaeng eagle sa lalaking eagle, expect mo na sila na talaga for the rest of their lives.
6. di agad nalalaman ang gender ng mga eagles. mga 5-7 years pa bago malaman ang gender nito
7. mas madaling mag mature ang mga babaeng eagle kesa sa mga lalaking eagles (o di ba? parang mga tao din)

nakakita din kami ng ibang animals dun like raindeer, warty pig, crocodile, and monkeys.

after our tour in philippine eagle center, diretso na kami sa eden nature park. actually dapat sa SUL orchidarium ang next stop namin. unfortunately sarado siya. so ayun... its another 45 minute - 1 hour drive pero ok lang. at least mei time kami to rest kasi lakad galore kami sa previous location namin. hehe...

we ate lunch at eden nature park. ang sarap ng food. panalo! especially the salad. fresh lahat ng ingredients. nabusog kami grabe! sakto afer namin kumain, we still have a little time to rest before our tour sa loob ng eden nature park.

Nestor was our tour guide. ok din siya na tour guide. ang galing ng sense of humor. hehe... naaliw naman kami while on the tour. pero di ka naman talaga ma bobored dun kasi ang ganda ng view ng dadaanan niyo. tapos since nasa bundok kayo eh malamig ang klima. after the tour, we checked out the skyrider. must try yon grabe!

our last stop was the apo ni lola shop. perfect place para bilhan ng mga Davao pastilyas. at mei free taste pa! pwede mong tikman muna yung mga products nila na interested kang bilhin. ang dami din namin nabili ni erica na mga pasalubong. hehe...

we went back to hotel at around 5:30 p.m na din. plenty of time for swimming! haha... so nag night swimming kami ni erica sa hotel pool then ate our dinner at around 8p.m.

all was fun! tiring but happy (^_^)
